When countries go to war, how does it affect your business, even if you are not in that country?
The skirmish between Ukraine and Russia could escalate into a potential war. As far as away as these countries might be from our businesses, they can still affect our businesses.
Such wars have a domino effect on the global economy hugely affecting the business environment. Supply Chain and logistics might be hit. Rising inflation due to the war may induce a reduced buying power of the general public. Cyberspace is the new battlefield and during wars between two countries, rampant hacking attacks could happen to businesses associated with either of the countries. Remember that the companies belonging to these countries could be attacked in another countries where they have offices. Similarly, companies belonging to other countries having offices in these countries might get attacked. Either of these is possible.
The mental health of the working staff may be affected with the news, updates and visuals of showcased (rather sold) in News Media.
Sun Tzu said “Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.” Think about this. The quote suits very well for organizations and their businesses as well. Ensure that you have got your businesses assessed for Geo Political situations and taken actions to mitigate those risks.
Lynn Nottage, the renowned American playwright, says “In the business of war, the role of women is really to maintain normalcy and ensure cultural continuity."
